Panasonic announces GH5, displays new cameras at Photokina 2016,
At Photokina 2016, Panasonic announced the long-awaited LUMIX GH5, the successor to the GH4. The camera is still under-development, but according to Panasonic, the mirrorless interchangeable lens camera will be capable of recording 4K 60p/50p and faithfully reproductive 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video. This new camera is aimed at professional photographers, videographers and emerging photo/video-hybrid creators. 

The LUMIX GH5 is scheduled to enter the market in the first half of 2017, however, no details regarding the sensor size have been given yet. Panasonic announced that the new camera will feature ‘6K PHOTO’, which is an approximately 18-megapixel-equivalent still image extraction from an ultra-high quality video with approximately 9x higher resolution than Full HD. Furthermore, an approximately 8-megapixel equivalent ‘4K PHOTO’ can be extracted from a video shot at 60 fps. 
The company also displayed three new cameras at the event - G80, Lumix LX15 and DMC-FZ2000. 


The new G80 is a Mirrorless cameras, featuring a 16.0-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor and new Venus Engine, with no low-pass filter, and maximum ISO 25600 high sensitivity. It has an updated Image Stabilisation system – the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2. The LUMIX DMC-G80 can record QFHD 4K video in 3840x2160 at 25p/30p (50Hz) or 24p in MP4 in addition to full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 at 50p/60p (50 Hz) videos in AVCHD Progressive or MP4 (MPEG-4 / H.264) format with practical full-time AF. The camera has a full die-cast magnesium front frame, and is splash and dustproof. It features a large 2,360K-dot OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) LVF (Live View Finder) with a magnification ratio of approx. 1.48x / 0.74x (35mm camera equiv.) and 100% field of view. 

Lumix LX15 
The LX15 is a compact camera featuring a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch large MOS sensor. The camera sports an F1.4-F2.8 LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMILUX lens system with 3x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-72mm). It features a 5-axis image stabilisation, and burst shooting at 10 fps (AFS) / 6 fps (AFC). It has ISO sensitivity up to ISO12800, and ISO25600 extended. The camera can record 4k video in 3840x2160 at 30p/25p(50Hz Area) or 24p in MP4 in addition to the full-HD 1920x1080/50p videos in AVCHD Progressive or MP4 (MPEG-4/H.264) format with practical full-time AF. 

FZ2000 is a bridge camera featuring a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch MOS sensor and 4K video recording in MOV/MP4. The camera has the newly-developed LEICA DC VARIO-ELMART lens system which has a 20x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-480mm) and F2.8-4.5, comprising of 16 lenses in 11 groups, the lens system. It also features the 5-axis image stabilisation, and ISO 12800. It boasts of burst shooting at 12fps (AFS)/7 fps(AFC) to capture fast-moving subjects in-focus up to 100 (JPEG)/30 (RAW) images. It can shoot 4K video (Cinema 4K: 4096x2160/24 fps and QFHD 4K: 3840x2160/up to 30 fps) in MOV/MP4 and Full HD video at an ultra-high bitrate of 200 Mbps (ALL-Intra) or 100 Mbps (IPB).
