Shoot My City: Mumbai – Revisited

This month’s Shoot my City is an unusual one as we revisit our own city of dreams – Mumbai. Generally, we tend to avoid shooting at a city which we have covered earlier, but in this month’s anniversary issue, we are trying to recreate our very first anniversary issue. Most of our articles have been recreated with a twist and this month’s Shoot my City is no exception. We head out amidst the hustle and bustle of Mumbai to recreate what international photographer Sebastiao Salgado documented nearly two decades ago. Brazilian photographer, Salgado’s stark pictures have appeared in various mediums internationally; from the mines of Central America to the slums of Asia, he has documented the lives of the poverty-stricken like no-one else before. In that issue, well-known late film producer and director, Ismail Merchant shared his experiences about the Bombay he grew up in and how things had changed over the years.
