The idea and intention have stayed the same ever since, and if anything, have only grown stronger in conviction. AP Awards 2012 were organised on the second day of the Consumer Electronic and Imaging Fair (CEIF) and Photofair 2012 at Westin, Goregaon, Mumbai. The ceremony was graced by significant people from the world of photography including producers, manufactures and renowned photographers.

Tips & Techs - Getting your White Balance Right

White Balance (WB) setting in a modern digital camera are quite imperative to get photographs to look close to real life frame. Often, digital camera users step out of the Auto WB cocoon to experiment with various other settings, only to get unsatisfactory results compelling them to switch back to the ‘Auto’ mode. the human eye accustoms to various exposures having a higher dynamic range and also to an array of lighting conditions with different colour temperatures. This is where a digital camera lacks. A digital camera needs to find a reference point which represents white. It then calculates all the other colours based on this ‘white point’. For instance, if a halogen light illuminates a white wall, the wall will have a yellow cast, even though it should, infact, be white. If the camera knows the wall is supposed to be white, it will compensate all the other colours in the scene accordingly.
