Compact Flash (CF) Memory Card Shootout

It is time for the magazines' Shoot-outs to commence and what can be more exciting then flagging things off with none other than the "War of the Memory Cards." If you remember last year's memory card shootout in the month of July 2007 then you would easily be able to spot the difference in this year. We put a lot of thought into making this shootout completely separate from the last year and also taking it one step further than what the industry might have seen until now…

Shoot My City - Mumbai at Night

Well we received a letter last month from one of the readers talking about the amazing photo-ops that a city like Mumbai offers. He explained while the city hustling bustling streets seemed chaotic in the day, its serene appearance in the night made it look something extravagant and every bit a photographers paradise…

Pro Profile - Ramya Reddy

Ramya Reddy is a kindled spirit who travels the land to seek-out its hidden essence. Mostly one to delve into fine-art imagery, Ramya does not prefer the photography of chance. Her images are deeply deliberative efforts, relying only on small incidence. They speak of a jannat not touched by the bothers of time or space. It features a 4x zoom lens, with 2.5in LCD display, red-eye correction and a sensitivity of 1600 ISO with auto ISO shift. However, while in some ways the 950 IS does improve on the 850, it is not a replacement…

Travel Feature - Misty Munnar: India's very own Switzerland

Mumbai's scorching and sultry days made us desperately seek an escapade to the mountains. I recall reading a while ago about a National Geographic traveler rating Kerala as the seventh among the fifty places to visit in a lifetime. That's when it dawned on me that we must flee to God's own country Kerala. To our ecstasy the decision was made to visit Kerala's premium hill station – Munnar…

Tips & Techs - The five most essential tools on Adobe Photoshop (Part 1)

How many of us know Photoshop thoroughly? I would certainly not consider myself to be in that category of ‘know it all' in that section. But the fact is, when it comes to learning Adobe Photoshop, believe it or not, there are really only a handful of things you absolutely, definitely need to know…
